This is the last BOE meeting until the start of the school year. Also we are trying a new way in publishing that is iPad, iPhone and mobile device friendly for you to watch on the go.
We are trying a new way to dispaly our videos that is compatible with iPads and iPhones and Droids. Please do let us know how this change performs.
This meeting further detailed the steps taken to cover a shortfall in state funding for the current school year and a more detailed explanation of spending cuts and revenue assumption in the upcoming election NOTE: The 2010/2011 BOE Budget was passed during the election of April 20th. Moreso, all three incumbent candidates were re-elected to new terms. Part 1
This part contains a statement from the Board to address the recent arrest in a computer hacking issue at HMHS. Also in this part the recording was paused while students received commendations as the HCA’s policy to not film minors if it can be avoided. Next the budget discussion starts with 2 competing proposed amendments to the draft passed at the Monday meeting. Lastly the public comment portion begins. Part 2
This part contains the balance of the public comments and at the end the camera was again stopped as the meeting adjourned for 15 minutes to allow the board to negotiate without going to an official executive session. After the break is the discussion on more proposals and the roll-call vote on the final budget that will be presented for voters next month. The meeting concludes with a quick run through the balance of the agenda concerning promotions, vendor payments and other administrative issues. Tonight the board voted on a preliminary budget and also further explained some of the proposed cuts. The video is in 2 parts due to the length of the meeting.
